Covington Assembly Of God

"Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!  Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.  Know that the Lord, He is God; it is HE who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.  Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.  For the Lord is good; His mercery is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations."  Psalm 100:1-5

What a blessing to be part of a worshipping church!  Each Sunday, the choir and musicians create an atmosphere of true worship unto our Lord.  Music is a very special gift and we are so thankful for opportunities to lift our voices in song in praise to God.

The sanctuary choir meets for rehearsal each Thursday evening from 6:30 – 7:45.  We are always looking for people with a gift and passion, not only for music, but also for worship.  This is not a performance choir.  It is a ministry that we take very seriously.  If you are interested in joining this awesome group, see music minister, Lori Hawkins, for information on how to get involved.

Without a doubt, some of the highlights of the Music & Media Ministry are our seasonal productions.  Christmas and Easter musicals, kids musicals and plays and special music events give opportunity for the choir to minister the gospel in unique ways.  These events are open to the public and have become a tradition for many in our community.  After a two-year hiatus, we will once again present "The Gospel According to Scrooge" during the Christmas season.  This is a favorite of our church and town and adds a little wonder to this special season.

The media ministry is another area where those with creative and technical experience can get involved.  This ministry is fairly new here at Covington Assembly and growing little by little.  If you are gifted in the area of media arts and would like to know more about using your talent as part of our ministry team, again, see Lori Hawkins and she will give you the details.

Whether on the platform or in the pew, our desire is for you to worship the Lord with your whole heart.  He is great and greatly to be praised.  Let's worship Him together.

Prayer is our link with God, an awesome avenue through which we can express praise and adoration to Him for His goodness, love, and mercy; and an avenue through which we can voice our petitions and concerns. God's Word assures us that we can "come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).

Prayer also moves the hand of God on behalf of needs and circumstances in our church, our families, our community, nation, and world. Take time to pray and intercede for these areas as God leads you. Become part of a prayer group and intercede with others in times of corporate prayer. As you seek God's help, expect reports of great victory to follow as God answers prayer.
